OUR MISSION
OUR ORIGINS
In 2006, members of the Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and community leaders joined together to form Delta Education and Leadership Training Academy (DeltaEd), a 501 (c) (3) public charity. DeltaEd has two primary purposes: (1) it assists the Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter in obtaining financial resources to support ongoing volunteer community service programs such as mentoring workshops for youth, leadership training, and financial aid for higher education; and (2) it offers life skills training for youth and adults, providing them with the information and tools to make better personal, educational, and career decisions.  DeltaEd’s mission is achieved through volunteers who devote their time, talents, funds and connections toward collaborative efforts to assist community youth in reaching their full potential. It is supported by an experienced Advisory Board of community leaders including:
Congresswoman Shelley R. Berkeley, Hannah Brown, Sandy Heverly, David Jefferson, Dzidra Junior, Fred Keeton and James E. Rogers.
DeltaEd workshops supplement academic education with training on personal life skills such as banking, saving, investment, business and cultural protocol, etc. Such fundamental life skills have been shown through the body of research to be significant factors in the development of positive, productive lives.
